WHO WE ARE

Shynne’s mission is to help build confidence, social and work skills in autistic young adults. A place to be with people similar to you, where you can play games, learn how to cook, do arts and crafts, learn new skills such as graphic design just to mention a few. Our goal is to improve life experiences.

My Story

From Struggles to Success: My Journey of Empathy and Empowerment

Born in 1984 and raised in the rough streets of North West London, my upbringing was far from easy. With a single mother working as a cleaner, we faced financial hardships that led to bullying and exclusion at a young age. Despite the challenges, my mother's values of honesty and hard work guided me through the darkest times.

After bypassing college to support my family, I fell into a dark path of theft and misguided associations. However, a pivotal moment led me back on track, and I pursued a career in graphic design through college and university.

Amidst my own struggles, my mother's selflessness shone as she adopted my cousins' babies, becoming their guardian angel in a world of chaos. I embraced the role of a father figure to my new sisters, shaping their lives with love
and guidance.

In 2018, my sister Sherelle was diagnosed with autism, opening a new chapter in our family's journey. Her challenges with communication, sensory issues, and anxiety became apparent, leaving her isolated and disconnected from the world. Yet, amidst the darkness, her love for retro gaming emerged as a beacon of joy and comfort.

Witnessing Sherelle's struggles and the lack of social opportunities for individuals like her, I embarked on a mission to create a community program tailored to those with autism. Drawing on my experience in a care home for neurodivergent individuals, I understood the importance of patience and empathy in providing meaningful activities for the autistic community.

Sherelle's story inspired me to build a safe and inclusive space where individuals like her could find belonging, connection, and happiness through shared interests. By creating a platform that fosters social interaction, learning, and fun, I aim to empower those battling low confidence and loneliness due to autism.

Through this community project, I hope to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals like my sister, offering them the support and understanding they deserve. Together, we can turn struggles into strengths and create a brighter future filled with empathy and empowerment.
